History:
10/1938 to 09/1960, No. 20 Maintenance Unit, equipment and aircraft storage and preparing aircraft for service.
08/1939 to 02/1941, No. 12 Group Pool, later renamed No. 5 Operational Training Unit and again as No. 55 O.T.U. training Hurricane and Blenheim pilots.
??/1941 to 01/1953, Air Transport Auxiliary No. 2 Ferry Pool, became 187 Squadron and moved to Benson.
08/1941 to 08/1943, No. 52 O.T.U. moved here from Debden training day fighter pilots.
08/1943 to 01/1944, Fighter Leader School from Charmy Down with Spitfires.
??/1944 to 06/1945, No. 3 Tactical Excersise Unit from Annan training ground attack pilots. 12/44 Renamed No. 55 O.T.U.
Hangars later used by No. 5 Maintenance Unit from Kemble and airfield used as a Relief Landing Ground by Central Flying School.
