Opened as satellite to Waddington.
13/4/43 to 7/7/45, 9 Sqn moved here from Waddington with Lancasters. One of two Sqns dropping Tallboy bombs in daylight precision attacks. Lost 85 Lancasters on operations.
10/44, 227 Sqn formed here, moved to Balderton.
11/44, 189 Sqn formed here, moved to Fulbeck. Returned 4/45, moved to Metheringham 10/45.
1945, Transferred to Army for vehicle storage.
1959 to 63, 106 Sqn Thor missile site.
