History:

09/42, 47th Bombardment Group with A-20 Havocs, moved to Horham.
12/42 to 07/43, 449th, 450th, 451st and 452nd Bombardment Squadrons of the 322nd Bomb Group (M) with B-26 Marauders, moved to Andrews Field (Great Saling) after two missions and transferred to the IXth USAAF. 15/05/43, Flew the first B-26 Marauder combat mission from England.
06/43 to 12/45, 331st, 332nd, 333rd and 410th Bombardment Squadrons of the 94th Bombardment Group (Heavy) 'Cunning, Rugged, Courageous' with the B-17 Flying Fortress moved in from Earls Colne, flew 324 missions during the war losing 153 B-17's in combat along with another 27 in accidents, etc. Flew leaflet and ferry missions post war before returning to the USA.
 12/45, Transferred to Bomber Command but not used.
