5/41 transferred to 12 Group Fighter Command as satellite to Digby with Hurricane 1s of 402 Sqn. Replaced with Defiants and later Beaufighters of 409 Sqn RCAF from 7/41 to 2/43 then 12/43 to 2/44. Mosquito MkIIs of 410 Sqn RCAF here from 2/43 to 10/43 on nightfighter defence duties and 'Ranger' ops with single Mosquitoes attacking specific European road and rail targets at night. 307 (Polish) Sqn here with Mosquito XII, leaving 5/45. 1959 to 1963 re-opened with 142 Sqn Thor ICBM unit. |
