03/41 to 03/42, 97 Sqn with Avro Manchesters, moved to Woodhall Spa.
Airfield then closed for construction of concrete runways and extra hangars.
08/43 to 01/44, 617 Sqn 'Dam Busters' commanded by W/C Guy Gibson VC, moved to Woodhall Spa.
01/44 to 04/44, 61 Sqn from Skellingthorpe and 619 Sqn from Woodhall Spa, both with Lancasters. 61 Sqn moved back to Skellingthorpe and 619 Sqn to Dunholme Lodge.
04/44 to 11/46, 83 Sqn from Wyton with Lancasters.
04/44 to 11/46, 97 Sqn with Avro Lancasters. 83 and 97 Sqns formed No. 5 Group Special Marker Force of the Pathfinders, 07/46 re-equipped with Lincolns and moved to Hemswell.
11/46 to 03/50, 109 and 139 Sqns, 16 OTU and 231 OCU with Mosquitos.
10/50 to 05/54, 149 Sqn from Marham with Boeing B-29 Washingtons, followed by 2/51, XV Sqn, 05/51, 44 Sqn and 04/52, 57 Sqn, all requipped with EE Canberras in 1953. 10/53 to 02/54, 40 Sqn with Canberras.
06/54 to /56, Airfield closed for rebuilding and new runways.
