8/7/37 to 8/38, 82 Sqn with Hinds, 3/38 re-equipped with Blenheims. 12/7/37 to 8/39, 62 Sqn with Hinds, 2/38 re-equipped with Blenheims. 8/39, 35 and 207 Sqns with Battles training pilots and observer/air gunners. Sqns amalgamated 1/10/39 as No. 1 Group Pool. 1939-40, Sqns moved out while the Station was rebuilt with new runways. 1940 to 8/41, No. 14 Service Flying Training School with Oxfords. 8/41 to 14/5/45, 51 OTU training night fighter crews with Havocs, Blenheims and later Beaufighters and Mosquitoes. 10/45 to 8/47, Empire Test Pilots School. 1946, College of Aeronautics founded. |
