630 Sqn formed here and stayed to end of war, last op 25th April 1945. 17/04/45 there was a bombing-up accident which resulted in 3 people killed and 14 injured, 5 Lancasters destroyed and 14 damaged. 460 Sqn arrived 07/45 until disbanded 10/45. Flying ceased 11/45 and the station was put on care and maintenance. The airfield was sold off in April 1970. |
