02/44 to 03/45, 29th, 47th, 48th and 49th Troop Carrier squadrons of the
313th Troop Carrier Group with C-47s and C-53s. The 313th TCG was transferred
from the 12th USAAF in Sicily for operations on D-Day and Operation 'Market'
with the 82nd Airborne Division. 313th TCG also received C-46 Commando
transports before moving to France. Airfield transferred
to RAF Maintenance Command and used by RAF Regiment until closed in 1946.12/59 to 08/63, RAF No. 223 Squadron with three Thor missile launch pads |
