History:
Opened as satellite to 14 (P) AFU Flying Training Command at Ossington. Flying Oxfords until May 1943.
Station then transferred for training to 93 Group Bomber Command. June 1943 C Flight of 82 OTU with Wellington III and X, Martinets. Renumbered 86 OTU in early 1944, disbanded October 1944.
Then transferred to 7 Group Bomber Command November 1944. Only flying unit 93 Group Disposal Unit which was disbanded January 1945.
From July 1945 used as repatriation centre with over 1,800 RAAF personnel here by September. All RAAF eventually posted here.
Reopened in May 1953 as satellite to Worksop with Meteors and Vampires
