30/7/42, opened but USAAF did not take over until 3/8/43. 12/43 to 2/44, 5th Combat Crew Replacement Centre ground to air firing practice for B-24 Liberator bomber crews, moved to Cheddington.
1944, satellite air depot to Langford Lodge with B-17s and B-24s.
3/12/43 to 9/44, 4th Gunnery and Tow Target Flight with Havoc, Lysander and Vengeance A-35B's in the B-24 gunnery school, moved to Chipping Ongar.
2/45 to 5/45, 5th Airdrome Sqn in control of air depot.
31/5/45 returned to RAF control.
