Hello,
I was excited to see a picture of my grandfathers B-24D Liberator "Flying
Wolves" on your website and thought that you might appreciate this
photo of him and his crew. My grandfathers name was Rudolph Saltalamachia
a.k.a. Rudy Satten, he was a ball turret gunner and flew 26 missions between
December 1943 and April 1944.
He once told me that he had either overslept or was on a pass off base and his crew all perished on one of the missions he should have flown. I can't find any information on it and don't know if this |
| was his only crew, if not I would be interested in finding out more about his other crew. My grandfather is the short one, just like me. Rich Caravello | |

Hello,
My Dad died when he was 45 years old and I was 15. I cant tell you how happy finding his picture has made me. Seeing him with his crew and so young. He is standing in the back row of the B-24D 'Flying Wolves' photo and he is seated second from the left in the 330 Communications unit photo. Thanks, Len Peninsula, Ohio |
