History:
2/41 to 12/45, No. 3 Air Observer Navigation School opened to a flooded airfield and its Blackburn Bothas were at Cosford until 6/41. Bothas replaced by Ansons and 11/41 renamed No. 3 Air Observers School, 4/42 renamed No. 3 (Observer) Advanced Flying Unit.
9/43, RAF Bobbington renamed RAF Halfpenny Green.
4/44 to 11/45, No. 1545 BAT Flight moved here from Wheaton Aston with Oxfords.
1/46 to /51, Airfield transferred to Maintenance Command with 25 MU here until airfield closed and put under care and maintenance.
/52 to 9/53, Airfield reopened during Korean War with Ansons of an Air Navigation School.
1960, Airfield re-opened to private aviation.
