History:
Originally used as a landing ground for night fighters. Originally called Ramsey, renamed Honiley 8/41. Used by many nightfighter Sqns defending the Midlands, including 1456 (Turbinlite) Sqn Havocs.
17/8/43 to 21/3/44, 63 OTU instructing Airborne Interception techniques with Beaufighters and Blenheims. Moved to Cranfield.
7/44 to , transferred to 26 Signals Group, Bomber Command. Renamed Signals Flying Unit 20/7/44 testing new radio equipment. Left for Watton 8/46.
31/8/46 to 10/3/57, 605 Sqn RAaxAF with Mosquito and Vampires.
1833 Sqn RNVR here until 10/3/57 with Sea Vampires then Attackers.
15/4/57 Station on Care and Maintenance until closure.
