History:
01/04/39 to 04/40, No. 14 Service Flying Training School with Harvard and Oxfords, moved to Cranfield.
12/39 to 01/40, 609 Sqn Spitfires.
04/40 to , No. 45 Maintenance Unit preparing various types including Halifax, Whitley, Wellington, Spitfire, Warwicks, etc.
04/40 to 05/40, Airfield transferred to Bomber Command and used by Whitleys of 77 and 102 Sqns from Driffield.
05/40 to 26/06/45, No. 19 OTU with Whitley and Wellington bombers.
07/45 to , Transferred to No. 236 OCU, Coastal Command with Beaufighter and Mosquitos and later Lancaster, Neptune and Shackleton.
12/49 to 04/51, 120 Sqn with Lancasters and Shackletons, moved to Aldergrove, returned 01/04/59 converting to Nimrods 02/71.
04/52 to 03/57, 217 Sqn Neptunes from St. Eval.
