History:
03/42 to 07/44, Satellite to Tealing, No.56 Operational Training Unit with Lysanders for target towing. 10/43, Renamed No. 1 Combat Training Wing, training pilots in air-firing and evasive action with Hurricanes and later Spitfires. Renamed again as No.1 Tactical Excersise Unit.
08/43 to 07/45, Satellite to Montrose with No.2 Fighter Interception Squadron. Then used by No. 44 Maintenance Unit until closure in 1945.
