3/42 to 7/44, Satellite to Tealing, No. 56 Operational Training Unit with Lysanders for target towing. 10/43, Renamed No. 1 Combat Training Wing, training pilots in air-firing and evasive action with Hurricanes and later Spitfires. Renamed again as No. 1 Tactical Excersise Unit.
8/43 to 7/45, Satellite to Montrose with No. 2 Fighter Interception Sqn. Then used by No. 44 Maintenance Unit until closure.
