History:
11/1942 to 06/1943, 38 Wing, Army Co-operation Command.
06/1943 to 08/1943, Transferred to Fighter Command, No. 175 Squadron with Hurricanes and Typhoons, No. 181, 182 and 183 Squadrons with Typhoons, 412 and 602 Squadrons with Spitfires.
08/1943 to 10/1944, No 2 Group, Tactical AF. 320 Squadron with Mitchells, No. 107, 613 and 305 Squadrons with Mosquitoes. Heavily involved in Operations Overlord and Market.
11/1944 to /1945, No 84 Group Support Unit training replacement aircrews. Later became Group Disbandment Centre.
01/1945 to /1948, No. 49 Maintenance Unit.
03/1945 General Aircraft Ltd based here servicing Mosquitoes.
10/1948 Airfield closed to RAF but used since for gliding and aviation engineering.
