History:
08/1940 to /1946 , No. 51 Maintenance Unit formed here for aircraft storage and preparation, later a major aircraft scrapping centre.
04/1941 to 07/1945, No. 27 Operational Training Unit formed here with Ansons and Wellingtons. Many operational sorties flown from this airfield.
04/1941 to 10/1945, No. 82 MU, an aircraft packing unit.
Post war used by No. 6 ANS flying school with Wellingtons, and No. 99 MU.
