02/44 to 11/44, 99th, 100th, 301st and 302nd Troop Carrier Squadrons,
441st Troop Carrier Group with Douglas C-47s and Hadrian gliders from
Langar. 11/44 to 10/46,
Airfield transferred to RAF Transport Command and used by 53, 187, 238,
242, 243 and 246 Squadrons until RAF closure. /49 to ?, Airfield used by Westland Aircraft for testing Meteors, Sabres and Wyverns. 11/51 to 02/55, 9 FTS Vampires and Meteors. 04/55 to 11/56, 231 OCU Canberras from Bassingbourn, moved to Wyton. 
11/56 to 01/58, 766 Sqn Sea Venoms from Yeovilton.
Airfield then closed and on Care and Maintenance, used from 01/60 to 10/60
by 700 Sqn. Airfield reopened 22/05/72 as HMS Heron, satellite to Yeovilton. |
