History:
08/43 to 04/44, 350th, 351st and 352nd FS of the 353rd Fighter Group from Goxhill with P-47 Thunderbolts, moved to Raydon.
04/44 to 08/44,
852nd, 853rd, 854th and 855th Bombardment Squadrons of the 491st Bombardment Group 'The Ringmasters' with B-24 Liberators. 15/07/44, An accident in the bomb dump resulted in the destruction of five B-24's and much loss of life, the large crater remained until the late 1960's. 491st Bomb Group moved to North Pickenham.
10/44 to 09/45, Transport base used by USATC Liberators and C-47's.
10/45, Returned to the RAF but saw no further use and sold in 1965.
