04/41 to 09/42, 78 Sqn with Whitleys from Dishforth, began operations 04/41. 10/41, Moved to Croft and requipped with Halifaxes, returned 06/42.
05/41 to 09/42, 76 Sqn with Halifaxes from Linton-on-Ouse.
14/10/42 to 15/05/43, 420 (Snowy Owl) Squadron RCAF with Wellingtons from Skipton-on-Swale. Moved to North Africa, returned to Dalton 06/11/43.
09/11/42 to 01/06/45, 419 (Moose) Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force with Wellingtons, Halifaxes then Lancasters.
01/06/43 to 31/05/45, 428 (Ghost) Squadron RCAF with Wellingtons
, Halifaxes then Lancasters.
The last raid from Middleton was 25/04/45, 279 bombers had been lost from this airfield.
