07/40 to 03/41, Grass airfield used by 114 Sqn Blenheims from Horsham St Faith, moved to Thornaby, 114 Sqn lost 7 Blenheims from ops at Oulton.
04/41 to 07/41, 18 Sqn from Great Massingham with Blenheim bombers, moved to
Horsham St Faith.
12/41 to 02/42, 139 Sqn training on Hudsons, moved to the Far East.
12/41 to 06/42, 1428 Hudson Conversion Flight formed here, became 1444 Flight 05/42.
07/42 to 09/42, Transferred to Coastal Command with 236 Sqn with Beaufighters.
09/42 to 03/43, 88 Sqn from Attlebridge with Bostons, moved to Swanton Morley.
04/43 to 08/43, 21 Sqn from Methwold with Mitchells and Venturas, moved to Sculthorpe.
Airfield closed and rebuilt to Class A standard.
05/44 to 07/45, 214 Sqd from Sculthorpe with Flying Fortress II bombers flying bombing and RCM operations, moved to the Middle East.
05/44 to 06/45, 1699 Fortress Training Flight, 10/44 became 1699 (Bomber Support) Conversion Unit with Fortress and Liberator bombers.
RAF Bomber Command lost 56 aircraft from Oulton, 34 Blenheims, 2 Bostons, 1 Ventura 16 Fortress and 3 Liberators.
06/44 to 08/44, 8th USAAF, 803rd Bombardment Squadron (Provisional), the 'Gremlins' moved here from Sculthorpe, worked with RAF Bomber Command No. 100 Group flying radio and radar countermeasure missions with B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberators. 803rd BS (P) became 36th Bombardment Squdron (RCM) and moved to Cheddington.
08/44 to 07/45, No 223 RCM Sqn with Flying Fortress and Liberators.
10/45 to 10/47, No. 119 Sub-Storage Site of No. 274 MU at Swannington.
