History:
Used pre-war as a landing ground by No. 1 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School Tiger Moths from Hatfield.
/40 to 05/41, Used as a decoy airfield for the de Havilland factory at Hatfield with the construction of dummy hangars.
06/41 to 03/53,
No. 1 Elementary Flying Training School from Hatfield using the airfield as a relief landing ground training pilots. 09/42, No. 1 EFTS moved here permanently. 09/43, Airfield renamed RAF Panshanger. 05/47, Renamed No. 1 Reserve Flying School and 04/50, re-equipped with DH Chipmunks.
