18/08/42 to 11/42, 16th, 17th, 18th and 35th Sqns of the 64th Troop Carrier Group with Douglas C-47s and C-53s arrived direct from the USA. Left with Paratroops for Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa.
11/42 to 10/43, No.15 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit with Oxfords
11/43 to 01/44, 434th and 435th Troop Carrier Groups.
02/44 to 02/45, 83rd, 84th, 85th and 86th Sqns of the 437th TCG from Balderton. First missions were flown to Cherbourg on D-Day with C-47s towing Waco and Horsa gliders. Group flew missions to Italy, France and during Operation Market and the Battle of the Bulge, then moved to France.
02/45 to 11/45, RAF Transport Command with Dakotas towing Hadrian and Horsa gliders.
01/46 to 03/46, 23 Group Flying Training Command with Oxfords.
