2/44 to 2/45, 83rd, 84th, 85th and 86th Sqns of the 437th TCG from Balderton. First missions were flown to Cherbourg on D-Day with C-47s towing Waco and Horsa gliders. Group flew missions to Italy, France and during Operation Market and the Battle of the Bulge, then moved to France.
2/45 to 11/45, RAF Transport Command with Dakotas towing Hadrian and Horsa gliders.
1/46 to 3/46, 23 Group Flying Training Command with Oxfords.
