History:
05/44 to 06/45, 85 Sqn with bomber support DH Mosquito night fighters from West Malling, credited with 43 kills before moving to Castle Camps.
05/44 to 08/45, 157 Sqn with Mosquitoes from Valley, credited with 28 kills before disbanding here.
06/44 to 08/44, 85 and 157 Sqns were based at West Malling to counter the V1 Flying Bomb threat, 85 Sqn shot down 30 and 157 Sqn 40.
10/45 to 11/47, No. 274 Maintenance Unit formed here to store then scrap Mosquitoes, sub sites at North Creake and Oulton. Airfield closed in 1947 and sold in 1957.
