Postwar 298 Sqn went to the Far East and 644 to the Middle East. 11/45 to 9/46, 190, 295, 644, Sqns here, airfield then on care and maintenance. 6/48 to 1980, Flight Refuelling Ltd moved here from Ford, refuelling and servicing aircraft. 8/52 to 6/54, 210 AFS formed here training with Meteors. The RAF later extended the airfield as a V-bomber standby base but it was never used. |
