8/41 to 5/42, 225 Sqn Lysander, 4/8/41 Hurricane/Mustang, moved to Macmerry.
11/41 to 2/44, 1526 (BAT) Flight.
8/42 to 10/42, 298 Sqn Whitley.
8/42 to 8/43, 297 Sqn Whitley/Albemarle 7/43 moved to Stoney Cross.
10/43 to 10/11/43, 168/170/268/63 Sqns, moved to Sawbridgeworth.
Transferred to US 9th Airforce 1/3/44.
29/2/44 to 20/6/44, 366th Fighter Group with P-47 Thunderbolts on ground attack missions over Normandy. First combat mission 14/1/44, 27 P-47s lost from Thruxton, moved to Normandy.
1311 Flt Anson 6/44 renamed 84 Group Comms Sqn 43 OTU Auster 6/44. Used for civil aviation post-war, 1967, first used for motor racing.
