The World War II control tower at Twatt aerodrome could be renovated and opened to the public by the Birsay Heritage Trust (www.birsay.org.uk). Councillors at today's OIC recreation and cultural services committee recommended that the trust take on the project, which will see them enter into a legal agreement with the council, as owners of this "important military site".
