12 MU from Kirkbride used this site to store Hampdens until autumn 1941 when it was closed due to drainage problems. Re-opened 02/42 with Wellingtons, Halifaxes arriving 05/42. Coastal Command aircraft stored here winter 1942/43. Mitchells here 03/43.
01/44 control transferred to 18 MU at Dumfies and used to store and scrap Wellingtons until closure.
