History:
Site south of village used as RLG by Cranwell until 06/40, then by Digby with 46 Sqn Hurricanes and 29 Sqn Blenheims and Beaufighters.
12/40 to 06/41, 402 Sqn Hurricanes.
10/41 to 04/42, 412 Sqn Spitfires, moved to Martlesham Heath.
09/42 to 12/43, Sqns here: 154 Sqn Spitfires, 288 Sqn Blenheims, 613 Sqn Mustangs, 416 Sqn.
12/43 to 01/44, 439 Sqn Fighter Bomber formed here with Hurricanes.
01/44 to 04/44, 402 Sqn with Sitfires.
Airfield then used as RLG by Cranfield until closure.
