8/43 to 6/45, 576th, 577th, 578th and 579th Bombardment Squadrons of the 392nd Bombardment Group (H) with B-24 Liberators. First mission 9/9/43, last 25/4/45, flew 285 missions losing 127 aircraft in action along with another 57. 24/2/44, Distinguished Unit Citation for the Gotha mission.
6/45 to 11/61, Used by RAF Maintenance Command as a standby airfield.
6/60 to 4/64, USAF radio station.
