History:
Opened as a Satellite to Swinderby in No 5 Group Bomber Command.
02/1942 to 04/1942, No. 455 (RAAF) Squadron with Hampdens flying minelaying operations, moved to Leuchars.
06/1942 to ?/1945, No. 1654 Heavy Conversion Unit arrived from Swinderby with Manchesters, Lancasters and Stirlings, post-war moved to Woolfox Lodge.
13 Hampdens and 4 Lancasters were lost on operations.
09/1945 to ?/1946, No 28 Aircrew Holding unit formed and disbanded here.
Airfield retained for flying training from Swinderby until final closure.
