02/42 to 04/42, 455 (RAAF) Sqn with Hampdens flying minelaying operations, moved to Leuchars. 06/42 to ?/45, 1654 HCU arrived from Swinderby with Manchesters, Lancasters and Stirlings, post-war moved to Woolfox Lodge. 13 Hampdens and 4 Lancasters were lost on operations. 09/45 to ?/46, No 28 Aircrew Holding unit formed and disbanded here. Airfield retained for flying training from Swinderby until final closure. |
