Aviation Book Reviews

Unique among books about the B-24 this volume shows the units that operated it rather than the dry ‘nuts and bolts’ technical view usually given. This visual history makes use of high quality wartime images to illustrate each 8th AF Bomb Group in turn.

I particularly like this 'Group by Group' approach as it seems far more relevant than yet another collection of B-24 photos sorted by sub types. Its also a good way of showing a brief history of each BG, the different tail codes they used and has a very good selection of photos showing many of the Group 'assembly ships'.

Overall an excellent new book - I can't wait for ones in the same format covering the B-17, P-38, P-47 and P-51!
