![]() ![]() 07/42 to 08/42, 28th Troop Carrier Squadron, 60th Troop Carrier Group, with C-47's. 08/42 to 05/43, 8th BC, CCRU, Combat Crew Replacement Unit. 08/42 to 09/42, 301st Bomb Group personnel here as satellite to Chelveston. Airfield then rebuilt with lengthened runways. 09/42 to 11/42, 15th Bomb Squadron here with Bostons, moved to North Africa. 05/43 to 06/43, 100th Bombardment Group (H) 'The Bloody Hundredth' here, moved to Thorpe Abbotts. 09/43 to 07/45, 325th, 326th, 327th and 407th Bombardment Squadrons of the 92nd Bombardment Group (Heavy) 'Fames Favored Few' moved here from Alconbury with B-17s, flew a total of 308 missions. Airfield then used by Air Ministry for sandbag storage storage until sold 1961. |
